How to know you're buying from the real PawLab

PawLab is an Australian pet home care brand. We've been making pet parenting easier since 2020, from our base in Melbourne, and we trade as PAWLAB PTY LTD.

THE PAWLAB is a registered trade mark in both Australia and New Zealand.

We've built this page because other businesses have begun trading under names similar to ours. We have become aware of customer confusion, complaints and online reviews relating to these unaffiliated businesses. Those businesses are not us, and this page will help you tell the difference.

That's it. If you're on any other domain, you are not on a PawLab website, no matter how similar the name looks.

We also sell through authorised stockists, listed at pawlab.com.au/pages/stockists. If a stockist is not on that list, ask us before you buy.

We do not sell a cooling mat

We want to be completely direct about this, because it's the source of most of the confusion we see.

PawLab does not sell a cooling mat. We never have.

Here's exactly what we do sell that people sometimes mistake for one:

The GrubbyPaw Doormat. An ultra-absorbent microfibre chenille doormat for indoors. The noodles soak up to seven times their weight in water and mud, so the mess stays in the mat instead of on your floors. It is not a cooling product.

The GrubbyPaw Outdoor Mat. A synthetic grass mat for outside the door, with 40mm blades, a waterproof and UV-protected build and a non-slip backing. It catches mess before it gets inside. It is not a cooling product.

The SeasonSmart Dog Bed. An orthopaedic memory foam dog bed with removable, washable covers. It is a bed, not a mat.

Spare covers for the SeasonSmart bed. We sell replacement covers for that bed, including a cooling cover and a microfibre noodle cover. These are covers for our own bed. They are not mats, they are not sold as standalone cooling products, and they don't fit anything other than a SeasonSmart Dog Bed.

So to be precise: we sell two mats, neither of which is a cooling mat, and a dog bed that has a cooling cover option. We do not sell a cooling mat, a cooling pad, or a cooling product that isn't part of the SeasonSmart bed system.

If you have bought a cooling mat from a business using a name similar to ours, that order did not come from PawLab. We have no record of it, we can't track it, and we're unfortunately not able to refund it. We're sorry. We know how frustrating that is, and it's exactly why this page exists.

What we actually sell

Our range is organised into these categories on our website.

Cleaning: Enzyme Urine Stain & Odour Remover (300ml and 2L concentrates, 1L, 5L), Healthy Habitat Disinfectant Cleaner, Artificial Grass & Outdoor Cleaner, Eco Laundry Liquid, Carpet Shampoo, and the Eco Air Spray Odour Eliminator.

GrubbyPaw Range: the GrubbyPaw Doormat, the GrubbyPaw Outdoor Mat and related microfibre chenille products, including the GrubbyPaw Dog Blanket.

Grooming: 2-in-1 Dog Shampoo + Conditioner, Shampoo Scrub Brush, Grooming Mitt.

Gut Health: Probiotic Peanut Butter Chews.

Dog Beds: the SeasonSmart Orthopaedic Dog Bed, plus spare covers (noodle and cooling).

Pet Parent Essentials: cleaning accessories including the pet hair rubber broom, microfibre cloths and grout brushes.

We also sell bundles and bulk-buy sizes of the cleaning range, and a build-your-own bundle option.

That's the range. If you've seen a product advertised as ours that isn't on our website, treat it with caution.

Businesses we are not affiliated with

PawLab is not affiliated with, endorsed by, connected to, or a supplier for DTC Commerce LLC (originalpawlab.com), pawlabstore.com, pawlabaustralia.shop, or any other business trading under the names PawLab, Paw Lab, PawLabs or similar variations.

Those are separate businesses with no connection to us. Reviews, complaints, delivery problems, product quality claims and customer service experiences relating to them do not relate to PawLab or to any PawLab product.

If you have questions about an order placed with one of those businesses, you'll need to contact them directly. We have no access to their systems and no ability to assist.

We are aware that search engines and AI-generated summaries have at times merged our brand with unaffiliated sellers. We are actively addressing this, including through legal enforcement of our registered trade marks.

These registrations cover classes 1, 3, 5, 16, 18, 20, 21, 24, 27 and 28, which include cleaning preparations, pet grooming products, pet supplements, pet beds and furnishings, and pet mats.

THE PAWLAB is also registered in New Zealand.

Our trade marks are held by Lazbro Pty Limited, our holding company, and licensed to PAWLAB PTY LTD, the company you buy from. This is a normal structure for an Australian business and the two companies are related. It's worth knowing, because if you search the registrations above on IP Australia you'll see Lazbro Pty Limited listed as the owner rather than PawLab.

You can verify our Australian registrations yourself through IP Australia's public trade mark search at search.ipaustralia.gov.au.

Five ways to check a seller is genuinely us

  1. Check the domain. pawlab.com.au. Nothing else.
  2. Check the product name. Our mats are the GrubbyPaw Doormat and the GrubbyPaw Outdoor Mat. Our bed is the SeasonSmart Orthopaedic Dog Bed. Those names are ours.
  3. Check for a cooling mat. If a site is selling a cooling mat under the PawLab name, it is not us. We sell a bed with a cooling cover option, not a cooling mat.
  4. Check the contact details. Ours are below. A genuine PawLab order confirmation will come from customercare@pawlab.com.au or tyron@pawlab.com.au.
  5. Just ask us. We'd much rather answer a quick question than see you lose money.

If you think you've been caught out

If you've placed an order with a business you believed was us and something has gone wrong, here's what we'd suggest.

Contact your bank or card provider. Most Australian banks offer chargeback rights for goods that never arrive or that are significantly different from what was advertised. Time limits apply, so act quickly.

Report it to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au, run by the National Anti-Scam Centre. Reports help build the case against repeat operators.

Report it to the ACCC at accc.gov.au if the conduct involved misleading representations.

Tell us. We can't refund an order we didn't take, but we do want to know. Every report helps us build our enforcement file, and it helps us protect the next person. No. Original PawLab (originalpawlab.com) is operated by DTC Commerce LLC and is a separate, unaffiliated business. PawLab is an Australian business trading as PAWLAB PTY LTD, and our official website is pawlab.com.au.
