How To Use PawLab Urine Stain & Odour Remover
PROF E.N ZYME CLEANING TIPS:
- No matter what surface (hard or soft) is being treated it is always recommended to test first in an inconspicuous area before proceeding with full treatment.
- PawLab is not a spray and wipe solution it requires sufficient dwell time to do its job.
- NEVER use other cleaners or chemicals at the same time as PawLab — this will reduce its effectiveness. If other chemicals have been previously used, flush out first with water.
How To Dilute the Concentrate
Ready-to-use: No dilution required. Use directly from the bottle.
Concentrate: Mix 50ml concentrate with 950ml water to make 1L of ready-to-use solution.
How To Remove Urine Stains & Odours From Carpets, Rugs & Fabric Surfaces
Follow these simple steps to remove pet urine stains and odours at the source.
- For fresh accidents: Blot up as much urine as possible using paper towels or an absorbent microfibre cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain.
- For old or dried urine: Lightly dampen the affected area with water first. If you’ve previously used other cleaning chemicals, flush out any residue with water before applying PawLab.
- Apply the Enzyme Cleaner generously: Spray PawLab’s Urine Stain & Odour Remover directly onto the affected area until saturated, using enough to reach wherever the urine has soaked.
- Allow the enzymes to work: Leave for 5–10 minutes to break down the uric acid crystals responsible for lingering odours.
- Blot and air dry: Gently blot up any excess liquid with a clean cloth, then allow the area to air dry completely.
- Repeat if needed: Older or heavily soaked areas may require multiple treatments, especially when urine has penetrated deep into the carpet backing or underlay.
Pro Tip: For Deeply Embedded Urine Odours
For the most thorough clean, we recommend our two-step treatment:
- Treat: Use PawLab’s Enzyme Urine Stain & Odour Remover to break down urine and uric acid crystals at the source.
- Deep Clean & Disinfect: Once the enzyme treatment is complete and the area is dry, use our WoolSafe Certified Eco Carpet Cleaner Shampoo with a suitable carpet cleaning machine to flush and extract remaining residue and disinfect the carpet.

How To Remove Urine Stains & Odours From Mattresses
Follow these simple steps to remove pet urine stains and odours from your mattress using PawLab’s Enzyme Urine Stain & Odour Remover.
- For fresh accidents: Blot up as much urine as possible using paper towels or an absorbent microfibre cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the urine further into the mattress.
- For old or dried urine: Lightly dampen the affected area with water to help loosen dried urine deposits. Avoid soaking the mattress.
- Apply the Enzyme Cleaner: Spray PawLab’s Urine Stain & Odour Remover generously over the affected area. Apply enough to reach where the urine has soaked, without unnecessarily saturating the mattress.
- Allow the enzymes to work: Leave for 5–10 minutes. This gives the enzymes time to start breaking down the uric acid crystals responsible for lingering urine odours.
- Blot and air dry: Gently blot up any excess moisture using a clean, dry cloth. Allow the mattress to air dry completely before replacing your bedding.
- Repeat if needed: Older or stubborn urine odours may require multiple treatments, particularly if urine has soaked deeper into the mattress.
Pro Tip: For Stubborn Mattress Odours
Urine can soak beneath the mattress surface. For persistent odours, check that you’re treating the full affected area, not just the visible stain. Allow the mattress to dry completely between treatments.
Once the enzyme treatment is complete and the mattress is dry, finish with PawLab Healthy Habitat Disinfectant to kill germs, bacteria and viruses, leaving the surface hygienically clean and fresh.
How To Remove Urine Stains & Odours From Sealed Timber & Hardwood Floors
Pet urine can leave stains and lingering odours on timber floors. These steps are for compatible, sealed timber and hardwood floors only.
- Soak up fresh urine: Use paper towels or an absorbent microfibre cloth to remove excess urine.
- Apply carefully: Lightly spray PawLab’s Urine Stain & Odour Remover onto the affected area or apply using a microfibre cloth. Do not saturate the timber or allow liquid to pool between floorboards.
- Allow the enzymes to work: Leave for 5–10 minutes.
- Wipe dry: Gently wipe away any remaining moisture with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.
- Repeat if needed: For lingering stains or odours, repeat carefully, avoiding excessive moisture.
Pro Tip: Clean & Disinfect
For regular cleaning of compatible sealed floors, use PawLab’s Healthy Habitat Disinfectant to kill germs, bacteria and viruses, leaving the area hygienically clean and fresh.
Important: Follow your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions and each product’s label. Do not use on unsealed, waxed, oiled or damaged timber unless the flooring manufacturer confirms suitability. Urine can permanently discolour timber; this damage may remain even after treatment removes the urine and odour.

Pet urine can soak deep into concrete and leave stubborn odours. Use PawLab’s Enzyme Urine Stain & Odour Remover to break down the uric acid crystals causing the smell.
- Clear the area: Remove any dirt or debris.
- For fresh urine: Soak up any pooled urine with paper towels or an absorbent cloth.
- For old or dried urine: Lightly rinse the affected area with water to help loosen dried deposits, then allow excess water to drain away.
- Apply the Enzyme Cleaner: Generously saturate the affected area with PawLab’s Enzyme Urine Stain & Odour Remover, allowing it to soak into the concrete and reach the trapped urine.
- Leave to air dry: Allow the cleaner to soak in and the area to air dry completely. There’s no need to rinse or wipe it away.
- Repeat if needed: Older or deeply embedded urine odours may require multiple treatments. Allow the concrete to dry completely between applications.
Pro Tip: Disinfect After Treatment
Once the enzyme treatment is complete and the concrete is dry, follow with PawLab’s Artificial Turf & Outdoor Disinfectant Cleaner to kill germs, bacteria and viruses, leaving the area hygienically clean and fresh.
Important: Apply the Enzyme Cleaner when the concrete is cool and out of direct sunlight. This helps prevent it from drying too quickly, giving the enzymes more time to work.
